History:
Sarah Connor's history is quite long and varied (see here). I'm playing her in between the second movie and TV show, as though the third movie didn't happen, which is how the TV show portrays it (but not quite where the new 'skinny' mother starts).
Short short version: A college student working as a waitress, Sarah Connor was a typical, naive, young woman, until a Terminator was sent back in time to kill her, thus preventing the death of her future son, John Connor, who would be the savior of humanity in a future war between humans and machines. (John Connor is played by Christian Bale, in case anyone was wondering why she feels close to the roleplayer using that avatar). A man, Kyle Reese, was sent back in time to protect her. This man, the best friend of John Connor, actually became the father of her son.
Kyle also set in motion the changes Sarah would undergo, as during the short time they were together, he began teaching her the survival skills she would need as they fled the Terminator. After his death, Sarah prepared herself and, eventually, her son, for the future war. Her entire life became geared toward learning everything she could about the underground of society, for when modern technology is overcome and humans live as rebel guerilla forces. She has shacked up with lots of people to get them to teach her how to do various things, from gun running, thievery, smuggling, EMT first aid, hacking, and anything else that could help her son in his future battle against the machines. She has honed her body to perfection.
Sarah does not care about people, not even herself. She firmly believes that if she is not allowed to do what she is supposed to do (raise her son to lead the resistance and fight the machines) then everything is going to hell really fast and nothing else will matter. So to her, everyone is expendable except her son. She has been known to uproot the small family at the slightest possibility that her son is in any sort of danger.
Sarah is completely against any type of cyber-enhanced life although she has grudgingly accepted help from them. But she would not hesitate to end such life; it is in fact her own son, John, who provides her what little humanity still remains within her.
